Inspired by a key discussion point on the importance of education at the 4th international Antibody Validation Meeting, we launched this award for the first time this year to recognise and raise awareness of existing resources that are supporting the scientific community.

Congratulations to our winner, Bio-Rad! Their 'Fundamentals of Flow Cytometry' course as part of the Bio-Rad Academy has seen over 11,000 enrolments since launch.

This free-to-enrol 10-part online course is aimed at scientists of all levels to learn the flow cytometry basics and how to generate high-quality, reproducible data.

Modules include: 'Flow Cytometry Basics', 'Target Protein Detection', 'Inside a Flow Cytometer', 'Fluorescence and Flow Cytometry Principles', 'Data Acquisition and Analysis', 'Sample Preparation Essentials', 'How to Use Controls', 'Successful Multicolour Flow Cytometry', 'Cell Sorting Essentials', and 'Planning Flow Cytometry Experiments'.

The course has been created to be as accessible, digestible and collaboration-driven as possible by including resources such as powerpoints, quizzes and subtitles, and an online flow cytometry community where participants can ask questions and share ideas.

Education is essential to raise awareness of important issues in the life sciences, share wisdom on best practice, and ultimately accelerate research with the right tools and expertise.
